In comparison to last year, the Delhi Air Quality Control Committee (DPCC) found that on Diwali, the amount of lung-damaging PM2.5 particles had increased by 45% and the amount of PM10 particles had increased by 33%.

In accordance to the report, compared to the previous year, airborne pollutants on Diwali Day were higher in the capital, according to keeping track of stations that keep an eye on the quality of the air. On Sunday, Diwali day in Delhi, the average PM10 level was still 430 micrograms per cubic meter, which is much higher than the 2021 level of 748 a milligram per cubic meter and above the 322 micrograms per cubic meter from the previous year.



In a similar vein, the average concentration of PM2.5 over the course of the day was measured at 314 micrograms/ cubic meter, compared to 217 micrograms/ cubic meter the year before. It was 607 micrograms per cubic meter in 2021.
